If you are successful in the dispute, this saves you time because the furnisher is required by law to report the correction to all three bureaus.

If you aren’t successful, then you still have the option to make your dispute with the credit bureaus.

This is not true the other way around – if your dispute is rejected by a credit bureau you will not be able to get the information changed on that report.​
